Novel Knockout 2016

The library team were excited to escort ten students from Year 5 and 6 to the annual Novel Knockout competition! This years competition was hosted by Epsom College with students from 10 international schools around KL making up 18 teams. The students had read 8 books selected by the KL Library Network, both picture books and novels, during the Novel Knockout ECA. The students with the best scores on a quiz were then selected for our two teams. These students were Joshua, Amelia, Eliza, Jess, Javeria, Euan, Sebastian, Siddhart, Harith and Medha. The primary competition was won by Tenby school, but the spread of scores was actually incredibly small, with all teams scoring highly. The teamwork was apparent as they worked together to achieve time pressured challenges. They also enjoyed watching the high school students compete and did very well in the literary audience participation' questions. As the host stated, it was wonderful to be surrounded by such knowledgeable and motivated readers. Click on the image to see photos of last years teams in action.
