Information can come from virtually anywhere — media, blogs, personal experiences, books, journal and magazine articles, expert opinions, encyclopedias, and web pages — and the type of information you need will change depending on the question you are trying to answer. For login PASSWORD information click here

Dictionary

Provide definitions of words and often give synonyms, antonyms, idioms, word origins.

Dictionaries can also be for language translation i.e. English-Chinese or subject specific i.e. Dictionary of Psychology.

Encyclopedias

A reference work that contains information about many different subjects or a lot of information about a particular subject.

Magazines & Newspapers

Magazines and newspapers a collection of articles and images about the news or diverse topics of popular interest and current events. Usually these articles are written by journalists or scholars and are geared towards popular interest.

Popular Nonfiction

The library has curated WIDER READING list for all taught academic subjects.

These lists can be accesses using the the LIST SEARCH functionality in the Oliver OPAC.

In Oliver to find these with the lists 'radio button' selected start to type KS5 followed by the subject name i.e.:

KS5 Chemistry
KS5 Psychology
etc.
