Librarian's Knowledge Sharing Workshop - Job Alike Weekend: Kuala Lumpur

For Librarians from FOBISSEA Schools and the Kuala Lumpur Librarians' Network on 5 & 6th October 2012.


Kuala Lumpur is an amazing city, so if you have time to explore, here are some of our recommendations:

Central Market

Mid Valley
Staying at the Boulevard? Shop, eat & drink, it's all here

Hop On Hop Off Bus
For an overview of KL and the freedom to get off and explore the places you want to, this is a great option  

KL Tower / Menara KL
On a good day, the views are spectacular. for MYR68++ High Tea at 3.30pm is a great way to avoid the crowds, enjoy the view and sample some local delights. A regular ticket is priced at MYR45

In Traders Hotel (follow this link to see a great photo) is the place to go to get those fabulous night-time shots of the Twin Towers. It really is a must.

Jalan Alor
In the heart of Bukit Bintang, this is the food street in KL. Worth a night time visit

Coliseum Cafe
It's not about the food or the ice cold beer. It's about atmoshere and a sense of history 

Tourism Malaysia
This site has plenty of suggestions. It is easy to negotiate a day rate with a taxi driver and devise your own itinerary 

There are so many things to do, so if you are coming early, staying on or venturing out in the evening, please ask Rob or Barb (or any of the KL Librarian's Network for advice on transport, sightseeing, eating out and accomodation.

The Boulevard Hotel

The Boulevard Hotel is located in the Mid Valley area of Kuala Lumpur. Taxis are almost always easy to get from the lobby and our transport to The Alice Smith School at Equine Park and for the Thursday tour will leave from the lobby.

The Boulevard Hotel has offered special rates for workshop participants. A superior room is priced at RM280++ (USD91.00)  and a deluxe room is RM300++ (USD98.00) and The Boulevard Hotel will invoice schools directly

Transport for the tour day and to the workshop will leave from the Mid Valley area and KL Sentral promptly at the times stated on the program. Please consider this when booking your hotel.
